Dubai’s lavish reputation may seem intimidating, but you can enjoy the city’s lifestyle without overspending. From affordable stays to wonderful experiences, here’s how to explore Dubai in style. Dubai is constantly evolving with major new developments that will shape the future of Dubai.

Start with your accommodation, hotels can be quite pricey when going to Dubai, that’s why you can always look at alternatives that are still near great places like the palm, mall and Burj Khalifa. Airbnb’s can range from £65 to £140 per night. You could also look at hostels that can start at around £25 depending on if you want your own room or sharing. Apps like Airbnb and Hostelworld are great for finding cheap and affordable places to stay. Using the alternative app for uber is the ‘Careem’ app that is cheaper than a taxi.
Once you have booked your accommodation, focus on your activities. Be sure to book before you go to Dubai as places tend to over-charge when you’re there. It doesn’t eat into your spending money which is helpful as the money can go towards other things.
For dining, look for prix-fixe deals at high-end restaurants. There are places that offer 3 course meals for £30. For lunch time, food courts have a range of cuisines and don’t break the bank. You could also go to local shops and buy food you can cook that will last you throughout your holiday.
Iconic views are another way to indulge. Enjoy the view of the Burj Khalifa for free by the Dubai fountains. If you’d like to go up it, then avoid the peak hours which is between 4pm and 6:30pm. Off peak tickets can start from £35 if you book through GetYourGuide. For a relaxing beach day, most beach clubs offer food and drinks with their affordable day passes (£20). At JBR, you do have to buy the sun beds which costs £25 which includes a bed, a towel and shower use for the whole day.
Due to the all-year-round hot weather, the best time to go to Dubai would be September to April. With these tips, Dubai’s luxury is worth the experience with no splurging required.
